sourcePokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sales passed the 3 million mark within just three days of going on sale, with the handheld titles still to release in Europe.
The exact number sits in the region of 3,040,000, with 1,534,593 of those coming from Japan alone according to Famitsu (via Gematsu). The rest were made up from sales in both North America and Australia, where the game launched last Friday.
To give a bit of context, last year's Pokemon X and Y managed to sell 4 million copies in two days, but that was with the benefit of a simultaneous global release. With Europe getting its hands on ORAS this Friday, expect another spike before too soon.
Nintendo also provided updated sales figures for some of its other Pokemon titles, with X and Y now having sold more than 12 million copies worldwide and the most recent remakes, Heart Gold and Soul Silver, sitting pretty on 12.7 million.
good numbers as always.
