Analysts are saying that Sony is planning a PS3 facelift for ’08….and we ain’t talkin’ Botox, baby!
The rumors started because of this cryptic comment made by Sony Computer Entertainment Chief Executive Kaz Hirai:
"[PS3] is starting afresh as a console to play games with. Although pricing strategy is important, now we would like to put our strength in the number of software games."
Hirai also mentioned that Sony is still aiming for 11 million PS3s sold through the end of its fiscal year next March, and that he would like to see Sony's game division "escape as soon as possible from the red and return to the black in fiscal year 2008."
