It has been a week of returns for the media world, first Samurai Jack comes back and now Psychonauts gets its long over due return with a sequel!
At The Video Game Awards, it was revealed that Psychonauts will return via crowd funding site Fig (which let people be investors instead of contributing) with the game developer asking for $3.3 million USD and the rest of the game will be funded by them and other investors.
Some facts on the game:
- It is still in early pre-production.
- Psychonauts 2 will explore more of Raz’s backstory, including his family’s curse to always die in water, as well as more adventures through different minds.
- There will be some new psychic powers mixed in with the old ones.
- A lot of the old team is getting back together: Erik Wolpaw will help write it, Peter Chan will be doing more concept art, Peter McConnell is doing the music.
- Voice actors Richard Horvitz (Raz) and Nikki Rapp (Lily) will also be returning.
