PUBG came into our lives with a bang and alongside of forming the Battle Royale genre, was quick enough to gather a player base of millions. More games followed by PUBG remained as the dominant force in the world of online games.

This dominance however, is steadily losing the count with each counting day. After almost a year of PUBG’s rein, the game’s daily player base has fallen from the million count. On September 10th, PUBG lost the million player count, a feat that started last year on 8th September.

This ends a year long run of popularity of the game which has now started to take a downward trajectory. And this is greatly due to the increase in popularity of other games most importantly Fortnite.

I think Fortnite, and newer shooters may make PUBG lose more of its players. Plus, more people are going back to school, and work now that school is starting for most students who are in elementary school, high school, and college, so people may have less time for gaming.

Most people think PUBG is a great factor to real life shooting incidents so alot of people avoiding this game recently and got negative recommendations. Meanwhile friendly themed shooters such as Fortnites seem to be safe and much fictional. But also there are lot of battle royale games that currently available on android and pc so some player are trying that.

And the fact that the game is still buggy and glitchy after such a long time, its an amazing that PUBG accomplished a year of 1 million players.

Once on top, nothing but down.
