This is true. but i'm guessing he saved right before claiming the egg from the couple.

I've only ever used it to get a shiny Pawniard...took about 2 days to do...I'm actually currently doing it again for a shiny Beldum...but I'm not being as gung ho about it, so it's taking longer (but seeing as I haven't played in 2 weeks, that makes sense...)How many shinies have you gotten using this method, Lord Regal.
Mm...not really...maybe 6? And I found it early on the second day. Like I said if I were being more gung-ho about getting Beldum I'd likely have it by now...I'm just too busy nowadays to really give it the effort it requires...Interesting, were you playing literally all day? Like 16hrs a day?
