Capcom's highly anticipated remake of the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 will reportedly feature in-game transactions.
According to TechnClub, the ESRB rating for Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 4 revealed it may include microtransactions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the title. The ESRB rating notably only mentioned console platforms and did not specify whether the upcoming PC version will retain the same features. No information was shared regarding what items will be available in the game's store. Capcom additionally did not confirm if it planned to offer in-game purchases upon release, which still left the microtransactions subject to possible changes during development.
The reports of an in-game store have additionally sparked rumors alleging Capcom will also implement a multiplayer mode for the upcoming remake. Some fans further speculated that Resident Evil 4's business model may share similarities with the Resident Evil 3 remake's online component, Resident Evil: Resistance, which was a separate survival horror mode that offered experience booster packs and cosmetic items through its in-game store.
