Rest in Peace Ray Tomlinson who was age 74, don't know who he is? You more than likely used something that he created, the email.

Tomlinson was the man who basically invented email as we know it today, including making the choice to use the "@" sign in an email address way back in 1971 when he made the first email which he sent to himself.

I bet, he may have tried most of the popular e-mail providers like Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook.

It is becoming increasing difficult to use web services like YouTube, Yahoo Answers, and Skype without signing up for a gmail, yahoo mail, or outlook e-mail account.

He may of also ran his own e-mail web server with a custom domain like a domain name which he registered from GoDaddy.

Many paid web hosts gives you a few GBs of storage, and make it possible for you to use a custom domain as your e-mail domain address.

He invented e-mail, so he most likely has enough money to host, and run his own e-mail server, and register a domain name to use as his e-mail's domain, and his website if he has one.
