True, would think there be a Windows like flavor of Linux by now.

There are distros like Mint that have a familiar UI to Windows, but that doesn’t fix the compatability issues, because at the end of the day the games were made for Windows, and Linux is a completely different operating system and different kernel.

So you can copy the look all you want, but if the software wasn’t natively written for the OS, the experience is going to be varying degrees of jank.

Another problem with Linux is the drivers for various devices.
Those devices, like printer, scanner, camera, etc., work on Windows but won't work necessarily on Linux.

Sounds like a nightmare.

Sometimes it’s not a set it and forget it type setup where you’re always having to tweak shit to do certain things that’s effortless on Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS.

Since being open source is basically the whole point of the OS, there’s definitely an “amateur” nature to things, so there’s a lack of standardization in many things, and a lot of “for hobbyist by hobbyists”.

Some people love the DIY duct tape and bubblegum feel of it, but there’s definitely a reason why it’s not for everyone.
