Detailed insider information about Sony Interactive Entertainment's strategic production plans for the production of next-generation gaming equipment has appeared in industry circles. The Japanese tech giant's internal roadmap points to the landing window for the official announcement of the PlayStation 6 home console in early March 2027. At this stage, the hardware components of the system have already successfully passed the engineering design phase and entered the stage of physical production of silicon wafers in partner semiconductor factories, which indicates strict adherence to the approved platform development schedule.

The first stage of the official public presentation of the novelty will take place in a strict technical format, similar to the presentation of the previous generation of consoles in 2020. Mark Cerney, Lead System Architect for Gaming, will give a dedicated demo for engineers and subject matter experts to dive into the semiconductor structure, memory throughput, and ray tracing hardware capabilities. This event will allow video game developers to openly discuss the technical potential of the future platform and optimize their software engines for next-generation standards.

A full-fledged large-scale presentation for a wide audience of players is scheduled for the summer period of 2027 as part of a special major showcase. At this event, the platform holder will for the first time officially demonstrate the final design of the body of the device itself, a line of starter high-budget projects from internal studios and an updated DualSense 2 gamepad with advanced tactile capabilities. The worldwide retail release of the PlayStation 6 stationary system is scheduled for the holiday sales period at the end of 2027 with strict control of costs and warehouse supplies.

I dont know how legit this source is, so take it with a grain of salt for right now.

They really need to hold off until 2028 or 2029, no reason for the PS6 to come out.

I agree a little bit, but some games are showing a little bit of issues. Some games release with only 30 frames per second.

That's with or without Ray-Tracing. Call it whatever you like... A poorly coded game or whatever, but some games are being released with 30 fps locked throughout the game. GTAVI is 212GB by itself, and is said to have 30fps throughout.

Even then, Ray-Tracing is pushing PS5/Xbox Series to their absolute maximum. So, even if they wanted full-Ray-Traced game, they'll need to use only 30fps. Some games can get away with 60fps on Ray-Tracing, but that's the outlier.
