Saddest Anime Ending

The saddest ending I've read and seen was RUROUNI KENSHIN, fomal scene where Kenshin dies in Kaoru's arms.

I love this Anime and I don't know why they gave it a very sad ending. From all causes they have to pick a viral infection to kill Battoussai Kenshin.

Hrmm, I guess Code Geass? Since it was kind of sad for Lelouch's sister.
