Should I play a Pokemon game?

Believe it or not, I've never picked up a Pokemon game in my life. Would you recommend it? What's it like?

you're a boy or girl who happens to receive their first pokemon from the town professor for some kind of help or an errand. You show potential, you are recommended to further improve your skills by taking on each town's "gym leader". You will eventually tangle with a criminal organization trying to use pokemon for some kind of criminal act.


There is a vast world which you can freely roam, you can capture Pokemon and use up to six at a time and store hundreds more in your "PC" which is your storage system. There's tons to do. I highly recommend a pokemon game.

Grab any game from Pokemon Platinum to Black/White versions.

I love the series, you should give it a try! Porkman elegantly invoked a sense of nostalgia in me with his post. Now don't mind me while I go load up Pokemon Red on my phone.

But yeah Pokemon is a pretty good game. Plus, with the newest games, if you ever feel like getting into battling post-game, you can do random wifi matchups now so you don't have to know anybody's friend code. That was a pretty great addition. But, you might want a game like Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which has 8 more gym leaders than the normal if you want a longer story, and more of the original Pokemon since Black and White only have the newest ones until you beat it.

There is plenty to do in the games, it just usually depends on if you feel like doing it haha

Don't forget to try the originals such as Blue/Red/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

Of course, you could just pick up LeafGreen/FireRed or HeartGold/SoulSilver.

I don't care as much for the new ones, though White wasn't too bad.

Pokemon is surely worth giving a shot. But if you don't like it, there's a good chance that you won't like any of the other past or future titles either. Most Pokemon games are identical when it comes down to core gameplay.

it's worth it but the original is the best cause it's full of cool glitches u should download the rom when u get the chance
