We all know that Zelda II tried to change from Zelda I. Zelda II, in my opinion, did great on the rpg aspects, but the difficulty and the confusion of where to go, made the game... less loved by people. I personally like Zelda II and I love rpg aspects of games that aren't turn based.

I think Zelda should try the rpg style again since gaming has become different since the 80's and it has greater chance of succeeding. Maybe it could go a bit further as well. Like giving more options of weapons to choose from. Like having different swords, different shields, and different colored tunics. Like in Ocarina of Time. However it could be more extensive as customization of sword color, sheild design, tunic colors, ect. Though that's less likely.

The basic point is should there be an rpg style Zelda like Zelda II?

Yes, Zelda 2 does suck, it's almost unplayable

If only Ninty could make a remake, fixing their mistakes.

Don't say it sucks just because you suck at it. It's a decent game, it's just different. But I don't think they should add RPG elements again.

i think that nintendo should give it another go as this time around they can look at past mistakes and do better. if they are successful with a new game, rpg zelda games might become more common.

Nintendo should definitely give the RPG genre another shot in Zelda games. I think Nintendo had the right kind of formula and RPG idea with Zelda II so I think they should.

I say flat out no. My reasoning isn't solely because I didn't like how they deviated from the traditional Zelda formula in Zelda II, but my concern for what would happen if a Zelda RPG was successful. LoZ is one of the few truly amazing adventure series Nintendo has. Metroid does have some exploring in the Prime games, but the focus is without a doubt shooting. In contrast, look how many RPGs are out there. Fire Emblem (great series), Final Fantasy (another one) Dragon Quest (never played, but with 10 in the series it has to be at least decent), the few Tales of games that were released on Nintendo platforms (Abyss being stellar), Pokemon Mystery Dungeon...the list goes on and on. As much as I love RPGs, I'm concerned that if Zelda has another RPG and it's successful, the series might shift to that style and never truly recover. RPGs are amazing games, but Zelda does adventure in a way that RPGs can't quite match, and I don't want that to go away. Exploring the world in Skyward Sword, where there was almost nothing familiar about Hyrule compared to almost any other game, was amazing...an RPG would have driven me to my next destination with no chance to look around in wonder.

Should a game like Zelda 2 be remade? No, I don't think it would work.

But heres the thing... I don't think Zelda 2 really falls under the RPG genre. It's more a side scroller... and Link used magic

Could a Zelda RPG be cool? Oh yes! When you think of the sucess Mario had with various RPG style games (Paper Mario, Mario RPG... etc), I'm sure Zelda could have a similar game.

Should it be rameke? Hell YES!

BTW magic was not the only RPG feature of ZII. It has experience points and build options. (it all ended at full 8 but gave you flexibility till on what to max first)

I would really like to see another game like Zelda II in the future. I enjoyed playing Zelda II. I have it on my nes and I can barely keep away from it. Its quite a bit challenging, however, but perhaps if there were to be a remake, the "challenging" part to it may be put at ease. It would be a great relieve on my part since I'm not too far in the game anywho ^.^ oh well. Thats really the only problem I had with Zelda II, it being difficult. Another thing that I enjoyed is having the sidescroller as a different look and feel, heh, maybe even as a different vibe, I don't know. To me, its just another one of those things that leave us hooked with something different to enjoy. I mean, you know, its good trying to experiment. theres always going to be someone to like or dislike it, so whatever those circumstances may be, there is going to be someone to like it, which is the goal. Maybe some people prefer the sidescroller style of Zelda II and wish to see more of it.

Screw the easiness! If anyone wants to play Zelda II like game, grow a pair of them and beat the challenge! One of the main things why I love ZII so much is the difficulty. This is like the original TMNT of the Zelda series, only for the hardcores.

^^Seeing this post made my day. I've beaten it several times, and it's STILL hard. The best part is that it manages to be unforgivingly difficult, but doesn't resort to being outright cheap or broken.

I would love to see a new game like it, but unfortunately I don't see it happening. As much as it doesn't deserve the mindless bashing it receives *blah blah TOO HARD blah blah blah DIFFERENT AND THAT AUTOMATICALLY MEANS IT'S TERRIBLE AND ISN'T EVEN WORTH PLAYING FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES TO SEE IF MAYBE JUST MAYBE DIFFERENT = GOOD blah* (I apologize for all the caps, but that's exactly what I hear when most people talk about it), the fact still remains that a lot of people don't like it. If Nintendo can't make a reasonable profit from making the game, there's little reason to do so. Maybe an eShop download on 3DS, but even that's stretching it.
