Side missions

Do you ever get so busy with side missions that you barely touch the main quest? Or do you focus on the main quest and try to not pay attention to the side missions?

With GTA I do the side missions sometimes as they are quite interesting but I always focus on the main missions first

I know in the sly cooper game series I spent a lot of time gathering loot instead of doing the missions.

I do some of them, but they often are just there and I avoid them. I am currently playing through The Witcher 3, which I feel I got ahead of myself within in terms of the main storyline, so I am now having to do some side quests to get some better loot so I can survive. I don't really like feeling as if I have to play them, but oh well.

I normally do the main missions first and go back to the side missions after

Sometimes, though I usually beat the main storyline before trying to complete all the side quests.
