The $110 billion merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery closed on Tuesday after Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan denied a last-minute effort to halt the deal.
The new company — known as Skydance — brings the HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming services under one umbrella, roughly seven months after Paramount won a long bidding war with Netflix (NFLX) for Warner Bros. The company said that all its direct-to-consumer streaming services "will unify into a single service over time."
Skydance stock began trading on Tuesday under the symbol SKYD and closed down at $9.53 per share.

Now known as Skydance, the company will also look to combine some of its existing subsidiaries. This includes video games, as WB Games and Paramount Games Studio are being merged into one unit.
Variety reported Skydance’s plans to merge its two major gaming divisions. It’ll be run by Tony Driscoll, who led Paramount Games Studio. “We immerse our guests in theme parks, resorts, restaurants, retail, studio tours and more. We immerse our players in action, adventure, combat, competition and creativity, from ‘Batman’ to ‘SpongeBob,'” he wrote in a memo to employees. He went on to say that his first priority will be meeting as many employees as he can.
Following the merger, Skydance’s gaming division will include studios like NetherRealm (Mortal Kombat), Avalanche (Hogwarts Legacy), and Rocksteady Studios (Batman Arkham). Prior to the merger, Paramount Game Studio released Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game and announced Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
It’s unclear if the merger will lead to layoffs, project cancellations, or any other sweeping changes at Skydance’s gaming division.
