According to this Nintendo Australia article, looks like it:

Apparently talking to some Goron before a certain part of the game during a quest will cause a cutscene to not play later down the track, meaning you can't advance. Not very good at all, heh.

The fix? Either follow the steps to avoid it if you haven't gotten up to that part, or send the save file from your SD card via e-mail to Nintendo services and they'll send a fixed save file.

They're also planning on releasing a program (not sure if that means Wii Channel or not) that will allow for save file fixes to be downloaded via the Wii through the Internet.

Still, good thing they've got a huge list of "What to do" and whatnot.

Holy crap that has to be one of the biggest game breaks I've ever seen. This happened to me once on Goldeneye Wii, I had no Idea why I couldn't advance. Terrible glitches these things.

Yeah, I heard about this. Pretty uncool if you ask me.

This is pretty old news. Surprised nobody's posted about it before this.

The article date was16th, so eh, who knows. Now we have a topic.

But this makes me wonder if Nintendo Australia will ever fix the problem with Animal Crossing between the Wii and the DS. That really cheesed me off, that bug. And here we are with another bug.

It's pretty much going to be Nintendo's equivalent to a patch. Since the Wii has never really had a direct method for developers to release patches to fix games I guess they're going to release an app that you can download from the Wii Shop channel.

It's not actually that big a problem. Just head to Faron Woods to talk to the Water Dragon first, and problem solved.

Wow, I think this is the reason I can't seem to get anywhere in the game.I talked to Golo before I went to the Eldin Volcano.

I guess it's kind of relieving to know I'm not that bad at the game, but still annoying that I'll have to download that "Update Channel" to repair it.

until patch appears people will have to restart... *face palm* thank god i stick to handheld s. my sis heard about this before she got to that part if she hadnt our room would have been a boo breading ground *shiver*

Uhh... There's a patch on Wii Shop for this now. And there has been for a while. It's on the free channels list.
