In an interview with Famitsu, via ComicBook, game director Masahiro Sakurai said that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will receive a patch on launch day in order to fix issues with its game replay system. He stated the patch would be necessary for anyone purchasing the physical version of the game, while those downloading the digital version would have it included with their initial installation automatically.
