So, no more 2D Mario games for four years?

With the 3DS getting New Super Mario Bros 2 in August and the Wii U getting New Super Mario Bros U as a launch title, does that mean there's now basically no 2D Mario games for four or so years?

Because Nintendo aren't releasing more than one per system, and all current gen Nintendo systems have at least one 2D Mario game already...

Guess the next few Mario games will be Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Mario Kart U and whatever the Wii U's 3D Mario game are, right?

I hope so. I mean don't get me wrong. I love my classic Mario platformers, but I want a 3D game, not 3D like Mario 3D Land, but like Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy, but I don't want a sequel. I want something original.
