I know, they had it be related to the Kokiri in Ocarina of Time, but it seems other characters in Skyward Sword are wearing similar clothing!
My bet is that it's some kind of Skyloft army uniform, and Link's part of it due to being the hero. Maybe the Kokiri took inspiration from the people in this game for their style choice?
