So, what do you think of New Super Mario Bros U re-using some music from New Super Mario Bros Wii fo

Yeah. But you have to admit, the same Desert music in THREE games in a row in the same series? Heck I expect the multiplayer results BGM will be the same, and if so, that'll actually be the same in all four games.

You don't buy the game so you can stare at the map.

Apparently in your world, stopping to look or listen to the scenery isn't common practice.

You buy it for the levels, and if the levels lack new music, it means laziness on the developer's part.

Oh, I thought I PLAY LEVELS not LISTEN TO THEM. I can't listen or use the world map but I HAVE to sit and listen to every LEVEL music piece? By the way, kid, the overworld, athletic, and snow music are all new.

How would you like it if every Zelda game used the Zelda 1 dungeon theme every time, just slightly remixed?

I'd be freaking fine with it.

How would you like it if in every Sonic game, the first level always used Green Hill's music?

What Sonic game DOESN'T have a reference to Green Hill?
Sonic Eraser.

I'm never too fond of re-used anything, but at least NSMBU has more new music than NSMB2. I really like the new overworld theme.

As a gamer who buys several video game soundtracks a year, I find stuff like this to be very annoying. I love video game music and appreciate good music when it comes around. When games rerun the same tunes for several games in a row, it is just as bad as throwing in the same backgrounds or the same levels over and over. The music sets the atmosphere for the game and here they show that they deliberately want us to be thinking this is the same as the last 2 games in the series.

It really makes me sad to see (hear) things like this in an otherwise outstanding game. If you look at several of the early reviews, the only things keeping the game from a perfect score are the audio and visuals (which had some improvements this time, but most reviewers claim it suffers from a lack of memorable new layouts/backgrounds).

I would like that very much. The genesis music was the best.

Also, I don't get why this topic got so heated. This is about music, isn't it? If themes that recur throughout a series bother you, I don't know what to tell you.
If you don't like what a company is doing, and you want to make your opinion known, don't buy anything from that company. Simple fix. Don't buy the products if they displease you.
I am buying NSMBU because I like what Nintendo has done with the series, and I want to support their decisions. I have no problem with recurrent themes, and I support recurrent themes. Game music is meant to compliment the gameplay experience, and I would rather a fitting theme than an out of place new orchestrated piece.

Guys, in my opinion, I like how a lot of NSMBW music is re-used in NSMB2, because it shows the 3DS can handle Wii-quality music.

There was this thing called Kid Icarus Uprising... you know... it used orchestrated music.. which the wii could.. yeah...

Music being re-used is somewhat lazy, but think about it.... what is Nintendo's HONEST excuse for re-using the same songs for a THIRD (sometimes FOURTH) time?

Seriously, people complain, but I always wanted to know THEIR answers.

Hey, Reggie, just one thing! Y U NO MAKE MOAR NOO SONG?
