Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan stated to game news website Game Informer in an article published on Tuesday that the "PlayStation Vita was brilliant in many ways, and the actual gaming experience was great, but clearly it's a business that we're no longer in now."

Sony ended production of PS Vita GameCards and ended support for the portable gaming platform in North America and Europe this past March.

The PS Vita handheld system launched in Japan on December 17, 2011.

That is a shame. I guest Sony will be spending more time and money on Playstation Now online game streaming where gamers can stream games to a smartphone, tablet, and other mobile deviced and PC.

more like just focusing on their console, which they should have always done.

I also consideer this as a shame. Like I said on my introduction thread here, I am a happy PS Vita Owner, and it trully had a great potential. I never had the oportunity (nor time) to play Uncharted on PS3, however, I played and loved Uncharted Golden Abyss on my PS Vita.

Just see what Nintendo is doing with Switch, it is one of the most awesome consoles out there. Who imagined being able to play The Wicther 3 or Mortal Kombat 11 on the GO?

So that means it is very possible to have a good portable gaming device which runs awesome games.

Let's see now what will come with PS5.

I feel focusing on consoles is the safest way for Sony Gaming buisness to stay alive because a lot of people enjoying gaming on a TV with a controller.

But, I feel an affordable fast handheld with fun games could make Sony more popular with people who are poor, and mainly play games on handhelds because they are too poor to afford a TV and rent a home to put their TV in. Some users rarely are home because of school, or working out of home jobs like taxi drivers, and security gaurds where they may also have free time during their lunch break.
