NEO: The World Ends With You is a sequel over a decade in the making. Fans of the original RPG have remained a small but incredibly loyal community, hopeful but without unhealthy expectations about what might be next for The World Ends With You. Since its announcement, those fans have anxiously awaited NEO: The World Ends With You's launch on July 27. It seems, however, their patience may have been rewarded earlier than expected.

It appears that NEO: The World Ends With You for the Nintendo Switch has leaked early, unlocking for those who purchased the game in a specific way. That means NEO: The World Ends With You is fully playable today, July 17, ten days earlier than NEO: TWEWY's release date. As such, fans should probably be wary of spoilers on social media up through launch.

I wonder if SquareEnix release this game early on purpose, so it gets more blog posts and social networking posts about SquareEnix Accidentally selling early copies of NEO: THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU.

Stuff like this is always fun to hear about. I wish this happened a lot more for games.
Would love to play some games earlier than the release dates.

Wish my area had one of those legendary mom & pop stores that always break street dates.
I always thought those types of stores were less likely to because if the publishers found out, they would get blacklisted? And that can be awful for a smaller store.

Microsoft actually stopped that a bit with flight sim. I saw that some people had their physical discs delivered early but they couldn't play it because they got the same message as users that had preloaded the game - come back on the 27th.

So that means the game isn't on the disc?

I mean the story is connected to the first and the general plot isn't really a spoiler but still awful to see people sharing it early or even when anyone else who buys the game later gets spoiled online.
