Lucas will join the roster of playable characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on June 14.
Nintendo made the announcement in a post on Twitter.
For those who may not know, Lucas is the protagonist of Mother 3, the followup to EarthBound, which never made its way outside of Japan. As such, Nintendo fans have since taken it upon themselves to translate the game into English.
The release of Lucas comes a mere two days ahead of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, during which we're sure to hear more about the company's plans for future Smash Bros. content.
