Stadia Will Let You Change Your Username at Any Time

If you're fearful you will be locked to your username on Stadia, well calm your fears because Google won't be like Sony.

In a report originally by PCGamesN, Google confirmed that it has adopted a naming service that will allow users to change their onscreen ID, so long as the name they want isn’t already taken by another user.


Patrick Seybold, director of comms for Stadia, told PCGamesN that the process will be “relatively straightforward” (PCGamesN’s words) once Stadia launches its Pro service in November, the same time the “Founders Edition” becomes available to early buyers. The service will become available to the public at large sometime in 2020.

It is unknown if there will be a fee for changing your username.

So update, you can change your name once for free and then it will cost you. What that cost is unknown.

I could see how someone would kill just for a username because of this one rule. Call me crazy.
