Steam: Did you know that you can restore deleted games?

Yes I decided to kill off a few games in my steam account and I was under the impression that they were gone for good. How wrong could I be?

Well I discovered that I can get those games back.



To restore a deleted game

Head to Steam Support - Games and Applications

Search for the game that you want to restore.

Where it says "What problem are you having with this product?" Click on "It's not in my library"

Then click on "Restore the previously removed package to my account".

And your done.

So, I assume that Valve's thought pattern goes like this: you bought it, so you're stuck with it even if you don't want it anymore...

Well with EA, you can't even delete a game that you no long want (unless you need to contact support for that).

Wait, why wasn't it in your inventory? If I uninstall a game, it's still in my inventory and I just have to reinstall it.

I didn't know you could do this. I thought that once the game was deleted that it was gone for good. This is nice to know in the event that a game gets deleted by accident or someone deletes your games for malicious reasons....
