Anyone here still a fan of Halo? Xbox seems to be dropping the ball on their most beloved series.
Who knows for how much longer though.I want to play Halo on the OG Xbox one day. And it still works online too.
It's run by a fan service so as long as they want.Who knows for how much longer though.
Oh, wow. I just realized 343 Studios is making this game too. I was hoping it was some new minds with some new ideas and some passion for what the game was.I really try to still be a fan, but it’s getting harder. Infinite actually hit a lot of the things I wanted; the core gunplay felt great, the movement was solid, and the foundation was there. But the multiplayer launched with all kinds of server issues, and they somehow forgot to include like 95% of the expected content. I still don’t even know if it has a proper Team Slayer playlist at this point.
The bigger problem for me is 343 as a studio. Every Halo they’ve made follows the same pattern: tons of potential, but the content is treated like a mobile gacha game; drip‑fed, delayed, or just never added at all. The non‑human weapons feel like reskinned human guns, the new enemy types don’t stand out, and the campaigns never reach the highs of the Bungie era.
And that’s the real issue: in basically every category: content, enemy variety, story, gunplay, features, game modes, the Bungie Halos are still ranked above the 343 ones. That’s a huge problem for a franchise this iconic. You can see it in the player numbers, too. MCC still pulls nearly double the players of Infinite, and the other 343 titles are basically dead.
At this point, I think Halo needs a new studio to take over. The potential is still there, but 343 hasn’t been able to deliver on it after more than a decade.
I do think they have changed a lot of staff. So maybe, but they also headlined the cosmetic packs as one of the main features of CE, and also cut things like split screen on PC and such. It REALLY feels like the same 343 already.Oh, wow. I just realized 343 Studios is making this game too. I was hoping it was some new minds with some new ideas and some passion for what the game was.
That was just flushed down the drain and any desire of me to buy the game too.
Yeah, the cosmetic packs and split-screen basically should negate the ability to call it Halo.I do think they have changed a lot of staff.
