The Switch 2 U.S. pre-orders will open on April 24 at the originally announced $449.99 price, Nintendo has confirmed. However, most Switch 2 accessories are going to be more expensive than initially announced.

Oh no. Not my Joy Con 2 Wheel set made officially by Nintendo. How will I ever desire to not want a Switch 2 at this point?

I'll more than likely preorder it, because if I dont get it now, I probably wont be able to until next year.

I feel the Joy Con Strap costing $13.99, and other accessories overpriced. The price of the games are also more expensive which can make it harder for poorer gamers to afford.

Anyone preordering their switch 2 tonight? I can't I don't have the money but I would like to get a Switch 2 and trade in my Switch to save some money. Plus I have to get up at around 2 am for work, two hours after pre orders start lol. Honestly I was afraid that the price of the console was going to go up but I'm glad that's not the case. Sucks the joycons are that expensive though...

I missed the midnight preorder but everything is sold out lol. I guess Ill have to wait a few weeks.

So much for Nintendo's promise to have enough.

The retailer preorders were sold out, not the actual product. Obviously they haven't gotten that in yet lol.

I think they meant of the console in general, not just preorders.

Read from nintendolife:

Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has stated that price changes for the Switch 2 may occur in the future depending on how the current tariff situation shakes out.

Speaking to investors (via Yahoo News, translated by Genki), Furukawa said that the focus for now is to "quickly popularise" the Switch 2 in order to help faciliate its immediate success. However, should the situation with tariffs change, prices may also change accordingly.

"At this time, the top priority is to quickly popularize the Switch 2 hardware.

"If the assumptions regarding tariffs change significantly, we would like to consider what price adjustments we should make and implement them after considering various factors."

Hopefully Trump backs off.
I'm not trying to get into politics here, and I realize you hate Trump. What do you think Trump should do when it regards to China?

They've been STEALING from us. Not just financially, but our Intellectual Property, too.

Put it this way: Elon Musk was on the DOGE team, HIS company - Tesla is in China. Elon doesn't realize that his technology or his designs are being stolen from him at a small scale across the country. Not just from big brands in the country, but smaller, nobody brands. I see a lot of knockoffs of Teslas on their version of YouTube.

Elon doesn't realize you CAN'T pull money out of China as a corporate entity. Nope. It is basically treason to even pull anything financially out of China.

TikTok kinda stole our style of short form videos via Vines, and Instagram. More over, if YOU are on TikTok, and your phone is attached to a TikTok account without logging out... YOUR addresss, your literal identification is pulled from that phone. Your age, your GPS, your IP address... Everything is stolen, and kept for selling. You wonder why GDPR exists? It's companies like that.

You put in the disc for Call of Duty today? You're gonna see "Activision Shanghai." Guess what is in there? A.I. Artificial lobbies. Anti-Cheat that actually doesn't work, but works only for classes of people. Activision today is and has been psyop'ed that they don't even know what is true, or what is false. Valorant... Valorant is spyware on the same level as TikTok that I outlined earlier.

Financially, China and the CCP operatives are setting up companies here in the U.S. and listing their companies in the New York Stock Exchange to extract financial backing from stupid investors that don't realize they are being coerced into paying a communist country.

Hollywood. Hollywood. Hollywood. This is the most OBVIOUS one. Both financially, controlling, and stealing "ideas." But at the same time, they push for censorship, and ideology of said films for either markets. For the China approvals, you need to praise, thank, and kiss the ring of the CCP officials. For U.S., yes, domestic markets - you need to put ideology, such as China is great, you need to make stories where the main character is a woman. I.E., Captain Marvel is normally a man, but they put a woman in place for "empowerment." This is a double edged sword of D.E.I. and China ruining our films. I don't know if you realize this, but much of our culture is dying from stupidity. And it doesn't just stop there. It doesn't stop there - gaming is getting this crap, too.

We opened up to China in the 1980's. We became too reliant on China. It's not good. It's hurting us.

Furukawa just said this:

"Prices for Nintendo Switch 2 products are determined through an overall evaluation of factors in each region.

"When determining hardware prices, we consider not only the manufacturing cost, but also various factors such as consumers' impression of the price, the vast differences in exchange rates compared to the Nintendo Switch launch, and the market conditions in each region.

"For software, in addition to the same factors, we also take into account rises in costs, due to aspects such as increased game file size and extended development periods, when determining price.

"Going forward, we will continue to consider appropriate prices for each title when it comes to software prices. Hardware involves special factors such as tariffs, and we will take into account factors like those we have just described, while conducting careful and repeated deliberations when determining price."
