Taco Bell is bringing back a beloved menu item the Beefy Crunch Burrito – with a spicy twist.

The new Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito, available nationwide for a limited time, is stuffed with ground beef, nacho cheese sauce, creamy chipotle sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, a three-cheese blend and Fritos Flamin' Hot corn chips.

Added to the mix: new Flamin' Hot Rice, which gets its kick and zest from red peppers, paprika, garlic, cheddar cheese powder and lime. The burrito is then grilled with an external layer of cheese, adding to the flavor.

“We know how much love there is for the signature spice of Flamin’ Hot, and our fans are always looking for cheesier, crunchier menu items from us,” said Liz Matthews, Taco Bell's global chief food innovation officer, in a news release. “The Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito brings all these elements together – taking the heat, the crispy Fritos crunch, and cheesy goodness on the inside and out of our classic burrito.”

The new Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito becomes available nationwide on Thursday, Oct. 16, for a limited time.

Taco Bell, in its news release, says the new menu item pays homage to "the cult-favorite Beefy Crunch Burrito," which was first introduced in 2010 and taken off the menu in 2011, but subsequently had several limited runs over the past decade or so. The Beefy Crunch Burrito, made with seasoned beef and rice, nacho cheese sauce, reduced-fat sour cream and made with Flamin' Hot Fritos, was last available in August 2023 after the burrito won a fan vote on the Taco Bell app.

I'm definitely going to have to try this lol, I'd get rid of the sour cream though since I hate sour cream. (I know it's there to help with the spiciness but the sourness of the cream will overpower everything for me lol.)

I remember when I tried it once during my trip, the mix of beef and that spicy crunch just taste differently. I don’t even understand why they stopped selling it in the first place. Brands love doing “limited time” like it’s a game. They should just leave it on the menu permanently.
