I just got my ambassador games this morning! And now I'm writing mini-reviews for them
I've only played them a little bit, but the only ones I haven't Played before are Mario Kart, Fire Emblem,F-Zero,and Metroid.

Yoshi's Island:

This is my 2nd favorite game of all time! Everything in it is absolutely beautiful.
11/10

Metroid Fusion:
The only Metroid game I've played before is Metroid: Other M. It was pretty good. And I played the ambassador NES one for a couple minutes and got bored. I thought I was'nt gonna like Fusion, but I was wrong! I just beat the "Prologue" level and I'm loving it!

From what i've played,
8/10

Mario Kart: Super Circuit
This and 64 are the only ones I haven't played . I thought I was'nt going to like this one very much because of the bland character roster, so I never got it. Now that I have it, I regret doing that! Not as good as the 4 later Mario Karts, but It's better than the first. And the extremely weird character voices make it a bit more enjoyable

I like the courses, besides the overabundant bowser's castles (theres way too many!) and Lakeside park (stupid boundaries

<) I haven't played the SNES courses yet.
7.5/10

Wario Land 4
This was one of the first games I ever played, and one of the best.
This is also the game that got me addicted to videogames! (Thank you WL4)
10/10

Kirby and the amazing mirror
Ah, my first Kirby game. And also my favorite Kirby Game (eh, tied with RTDL)
I love this game so much xD It's really addicting and really fun
10/10

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

I've never played a fire emblem game, and only know what it is from Smash Bros.
I thought I would hate it,but I gave it a chance,and I like it! I'm on chapter 3 now,and it's pretty good. Much better than I expected

7/10

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

I love this game, It's 10x better than it's sequels. And I how mario talks in this game! cracks me up every time.
9/10

Zelda: Minish Cap

This is my favorite 2D Zelda, besides Four Swords Adventures.
8/10

WarioWare: Mega Microgames
When I firt played this game I hated it. Then, the more I played it,I started to like it more and more. I love WarioWare now

9/10

F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
The last and definitely the least.
I hate this game,the only one I don't like.
Bland courses, horrible turning, and you die if you go offroad
I can't even play it for a couple minutes before I get bored or frustrated

Neat Idea to do a review on the GBA ambassador games,I agree with most of your ratings.(probably would've rated Minish cap a little higher) I defiantly agree with your opinion about F-Zero I've never really liked it. But anyway great review Super Leaf!

Thanks!

I agree.Played F-Zero and first second I'm in second and have NO idea what to do.

They should've fixed the turning lag and added a proper drift.

I like to call it:"Wacky Physics Mario Kart"

So far I have played the Yoshi's island and the mario kart game. I absolutely love Yoshi's Island, its my favourite hands down. But I am not fond of the mario kart game. The problem I have is the trouble controlling where my character goes. It is sooo hard to steer. I am not liking it so far...

Mario Kart is the most impossible game I've every played. Haha, I always fall off, I'm always last and you slide everywhere! Yoshi's Island is just a classic. I actually have the original copy somewhere! The rest, I haven't played.

How can you guys be so bad at Mario Kart Super Circuit? I'll admit, the steering isn't great, but more often than not, properly using drift techniques can help you. However, the desert tracks are another story. Everything that you learned in past races just seems to change for the worst there.

I try using drift. But the fact that when you use it, you don't turn more sharply. You instead keep going forward and your kart will be facing the direction your holding. When you let go you have to wait for the forward momentum to give and actually start driving the way your facing. Must i mention that you can drift the opposite way from the direction you were originally drifting in without letting go of R? That there screws me up the most.

The issue with Super Circuit is that it's got controls supposedly far more similar to the SNES original Mario Kart game, not the later ones which people are used to.

When you consider it's also got a high level difficulty level compared to the others, and that the physics are a lot looser, this makes it an awkard game to come back to. And if you thought the desert tracks were bad, try the SNES ones. Vanilla Lake is hellish due to the ice + tiny ice blocks you can break + sharp corners, and Bowser's Castle is confusing. Then there's Rainbow Road (thankfully without electric thwomps, but the same general design)...

I'm curious, what character did you mainly use to get 3 stars on everything? and how many coins do you have to get to get 3 stars?
