The gun issue

Sawed off's are illegal.
No they aren't, but they require tons of paperwork a 200 dollar tax stamp and months of waiting for ATF to finish registering the gun under your name.

Guns that need to go through this federal registration crap are called NFA/Class 3 firearms. Guns that are required to be registered under the NFA laws are:

Short barred shotguns or SBS for short - An SBS is any shotgun that has a barrel length of less than 18' inches and/or an overall length of 24 inches according to federal law.

Short barreled rifles/ SBRs - Short barred rifles under federal law is any rifle that has a barrel length shorter than 16' inches. To cut the length of the barrel of a rifle to less tax 16 inches requires a 200 tax stamp, also a short barreled shotgun only requires 5 dollars to saw off the barrel yourself.

Machine guns - Under the NFA 1934 act, a "machine gun" is any firearm that can fire more than one round when the trigger is depressed, firearms with a 3 round burst fire mechanism like the US M16A2 and M16A4 or the Russian Abakan AN-94's 2nd round follow-up mechanism (2 shot burst as more commonly called) also fall under the "machine gun" definition in the NFA law.

Destructive Devices - Any explosive material like Composite 4 plastic explosives or weapons designed to spray poisonous, flammable or toxic gas in a certain area like nerve gas grenades, phosphorus grenades, that kind of stuff. also included are rockets and rocket launchers, grenade launchers, hand grenades, etc.

AOWs - an AOW or any other weapon, is any cartridge fed firearm that has a smoothbore barrel and a forgrip or more than one grip, any firearm that is disguised to look like something else like pen guns, cane guns, etc.

I hope this helps a little. This is only a summary so if your ever considering getting one of these class of firearms legally, I advise you study the NFA laws and the laws in your area since states, counties and even cities may have more restrictions on NFA firearms. If your in California (Union of Soviet Socialist Kommiefornia) or in New York (People's Republic of Yorkistan) then I won't bother trying to and not even for non NFA firearms. In these states you might as well kiss your 2nd Amendment goodbye.

I love how Texas is willing to take our losers off our hands. Most of the people from New York who buy into what Texas is selling live in Upstate New York anyways. So as far as I am concerned, Texas can have those people. Because most of us REAL NEW YORKERS, who reside within the 5 boroughs of Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island don't want em'. As for the gun laws, I think keeping large rapid fire weapons out of the hands of kooks makes sense. Anyone who says I need an AR 15 or larger to hunt or for sport is lying and borderline psychotic.
You are an example of the kind of scum that we law-abiding gun owners have to put up with. California has by far THE strictest gun control laws in the US yet has one of the highest gun homicides in the US. You don't wanna own a gun? Fine. But don't tell others that they're wrong for exercising their rights, not privileges but their human rights. And to add insult to injury you people write down the home addresses of NY gun owners on newspapers, as if they were registered sex offenders or something, but then when the news editor saw gun owners complaining outside his building he had armed guards stationed there to protect him in fear of being shot by them. But seeing as their law-abiding they didn't shoot anybody. why? Because we're not the bad guys! Using guns to protect yourself against those you sought to disarm....wow, it's hypocrisy at it's finest. It's just plain sick.
