Just wondering...
Does anyone have the iPhone 4? I really want it, partly 'cause I wanna make home videos.
If you have it, would you reccomend it?
Also, if you've had the previous version(s) what do you think of it?

I don't have one, but I definitely would recommend it. I've used it long enough to know it's awesome.

I personally suggest you read the website. I hope you're not too lazy for the details, because you can learn a lot things about it here:

Don't go with Android or Windows Phone OS. Seriously, the UI is so much better on iOS. Everything works the smoothest and most natural on the iPhone 4. Although, if it's just because you want to make home videos, you should just buy the iPod touch.

If you want to make homemade videos, get a camcorder. It would work so much better than an iPhone.
I have an iphone, it's great, and works well. But if you want to make videos, it would be a terrible choice to get an iPhone to do that.

I gotz it and it's pretty damn good. I have a IPod 2nd gen and my phone blows it miles away. But I can't download any games that deal with the retina display though.(iPod) so if your gonna get one, get the 4th gen. So....yea, I recommend it.

Ed-but I did manage to find out something. You can't have every app running on your app history. It'll glitch up and freeze when it's locked. So for short-every once in a while delete your history. ALL apps.

I just re-read his post. it turns that home movies is only part of the reason. Plus, the HD vid cam on the iPhone 4 isn't actually that bad. But the camcorder is better, if videos is the only reason.

Yeah, I have a camcorder, I might use that, too! (Well until I test out the camera on the iPhone 4, that is. Thanks, I think I will think more seriously about the iPhone 4)

If you use an iPhone, you're going to have to hold it, giving absolutely no stability at all and it will be shaky as hell. A camcorder is much better designed for the video and audio capture. I don't doubt the iPhone's cameras are good, but the iPhone is not the best choice. When it comes down to it, one of the main things people look for when looking for videos is quality, and that can make a huge difference. Unless no one is ever going to see it, not even yourself, I'd say use the camcorder and a tripod or something.

iPhones and what not are the one thing I do like about apple. I hate their computers but as far as their many different variants of iPod's go, ITS ALL GOOD.

I almost got an iPhone the last time I wanted another handheld device, but the contracts and fees and whatnot scared me a lot.
iPod, on the other hand, is much cheaper and is still very cool. I do a little more than half my forum browsing through it (like right now!).

If I were you, I'd just wait until the iPhone 5 comes out. Along with 4D TVs featuring Disney's latest pop star. And the Xbox720.

Now announcing Apple's Iphone 5g! It's like the 4g exept we made it MORE jagged and added a kickstand!

Everyone: OMG ARE U GETING THA IPOD WIT DA KIKSTND?!! YEAHHHH!!! :OOOOO
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I despise Apple because they know this is the truth and that's their business tactic.
They can sell pretty much whatever they want. People will buy it. Instead of trying to revolutionize and improve it greatly,
they add little things that are just enough to make people think their current version is 'outdated'.

Happens all the time, in fact, that EVERYONE: is nearly exact dialogue I've heard from real people 3 times the day after Apple announced the "Ipod with the camera".
I was fine with my 1g until it broke. 3g is what I have now, and the jump from 3g to 4g was actually quite lame in my opinion. The only part I was impressed by was the OS updates.

The jump from 4g to 5g won't be huge most likely but I think you should wait. Theres no point in getting something 'outdated' just before the newest one comes out. I'd say get 5g when it does and not even worry about any generational gaps until theres an actual problem with it because I really don't think Apple needs all the money they're milking from this.

You do know there's no iPhone 4G, right? It's just iPhone "4". A 5G isn't happening in a long time, too.

They don't need to revolutionize their iPod touch and iPhone. They have a perfectly good OS on it, and little updates are actually working great for them and customers. People don't care that much. They wanted a camera on the Touch, Apple gave them a camera. What ain't broke, don't fix it.

OS wise they've been doing a great job. People have been asking for a camera since the first came out. It was asked a TON. Until now that never happened.
Steve Jobs doesn't really care. He has aggressive business tactics and I don't like them at all. If Apple didn't have pretty high quality base products to begin with, I would hate them, but the truth of the matter is Mac's and Ipods are pretty damn good. But small changes aren't worth the money to upgrade every chance you get. My point is, unless it's a HUGE change that renders the current one inadequate or legitimately outdated, theres no real need to upgrade. 1g and 2g can't have 4.0 (or was 2g just incredibly limited from it?) So I would say it would be worth upgrading, unless the person had more extreme views that if something works no matter what else, then they won't upgrade.

I don't think it's wise to waste money on non necessities unless you have the money to spend. Not that I say go throwing money everywhere because then you'll have no money to spend on big, long lasting, quality product at aren't as low in price. The age group of this forum is mainly like 10-17. Most of them don't have jobs. Most of their money income is incredibly limited if there is at all. Most will come from their parents. To waste it all on small things would be stupid. And to waste other peoples money on small things is just a tad greedy for spoiling your own self.

I'm not saying Apple won't add great things, but they will at things less than special, and I do know for a fact that theres tons of people who would spend money on every one of them no matter what.
