Eventually we will hit a celling with making new consoles and maybe even PCs, when do you think game companies will no longer be able to make new hardware?

Well with gpu hardware, Silicon engineering is practically already hitting a wall. Making transistors smaller is getting really expensive, and running them faster produces unsustainable amounts of heat and power draw. Because of this, NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel are shifting from "brute-force" rendering to "smart" rendering. And Thus AI rendering will be the gpu upgrade in the forseeable future rather than pure hardware. The strongest gpu for console is still at the rtx 4060ti level (ps5 pro)so gpu hardware wise for consoles still have room for stronger ones but then it will be hampered sales wise because of the increased in price required for stronger console gpus. Even with pcs the most bought gpu is almost always the 50-60 level. The recent shift to 70 level is due to the abnormal price hike causing people to might as well spend more and get the 70 instead of 60. GPU price inflation has raised the baseline cost of entry. Because the price of the 60-level cards crept upward, the absolute price difference between a 60-level and a 70-level card shrank relative to the total cost of building a mid-range PC.

We need physical emulator machines like the Retron for every console and then we're set. We still need a good way to stream Nintendo DS games besides the Wii U and PC emulators.

True, at this point there should just be a master system that plays everything well and companies just focus on software.
I lol'd at "master system" since it's the name of Sega's 8 bit console. :P Would be nice to see something like this, but seeing how Nintendo will never release their games outside their hardware I don't see them ever jumping on this opportunity.

I doubt it. We are always coming up with new tech. 10 years ago no one had heard of an NVMe drive or that it could read/write at 7000 mb/s with no moving parts and it sits in your palm.

Things will simply evolve, not stop or hit a ceiling.
