The update is ready.

Yup, I just updated mine as well. It's ready for the U.S. too

Here's a list of notable features (that I've found):
  • Folders
  • The ability for games to be patched
  • eShop revamp:
    • The categories are on one row, with the main menu for settings/options stuff such as search, latest updates, etc on the bottom
    • Ability to scan QR codes
    • Ability to store credit cards
  • Internet Browser update (according to NoJ, but I don't see any differences)

You're also able to switch into download later when you've started downloading.

So, normally you could choose either to download later or download now, but you're saying, if you download and it's at 50%, you can then switch to "Sleep Mode Download"?

For the curious, here is my current folder setup:

Firstly, I have eShop, "Game Card" and System Settings on the Home Menu since neither can be placed into folders, then I have the folders which are, in order (going down each column, then by row):
  • 3DS Apps (which includes all the apps that were pre-installed and will be used for 3DS Download Software, or "3DSWare" if you will)
    • Nintendo 3DS Camera
    • Nintendo 3DS Sound
    • Mii Maker
    • Download Play
    • Health & Safety Information
    • Activity Log
    • Nintendo Video
    • Pokedex 3D
    • Nintendo Letter Box
    • Colors! 3D
    • Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Certificate
    • Face Raiders
    • AR Games: Augmented Reality
    • StreetPass Mii Plaza
  • 3D Classics
    • 3D Classics: Kid Icarus
    • 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure
  • 3DS Demos
    • Nintendogs + cats Demo Version
    • Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games Demo Version
    • Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Demo
  • DSiWare
    • Brain Challenge
    • Nintendo Countdown Calendar
    • The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
    • Extreme Hangman
    • A Little Bit Of... Dr. Mario
    • Calculator
  • Game Boy/Color
    • Super Mario Land
    • Alleyway
    • Tennis
    • Kirby's Dream Land
    • Game & Watch Gallery
    • Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

    • WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania
    • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
  • NES
    • Super Mario Bros
    • Mario & Yoshi (yes, Nin3DS... I DO remember this game, because I had this game, and I used to love it... especially the music)
  • Game Gear
    • Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble

And while on the subject of updates.... guess what's coming in the eShop for Europe this week....

Ok, don't guess, I'll tell you.
Block Factory (£3.60/€4.00) for 3DS Download Software
Inchworm Animation (800 points) for DsiWare

No Virtual Console releases.

WHERE'S MY WARIO LAND II and GAME & WATCH GALLERY 2 dammit!? (Also, what about Game Boy Gallery? The one that only Europe and Australia got, with Ball, Vermin, Flagman, Manhole, and Cement Factory)?

Yeah, you can totally not wait for FLIPNOTE MEMO, person who somehow has an awkwardly similar name to Yoshian, seems to love the same thing (Flipnote Memo) that he does, and is somehow NOT his alt (even though it's odd)....?
