This would make a great Mario game

Yeah, I dig the idea of different bit Mario stages that area puzzle to solve the top stage. Quite a nice concept.
 
Yeah, it's a nice idea. Though I think it's more likely to end up as a fan game than an official one, since it doesn't seem quite like something Nintendo would be interested in about now.

never know with Nintendo, one day you have high graphic looking Zelda game, the next a cardboard game.
