Some people really act sick in this world especially when it comes to how they treat animals that are their own pets.

I can recall earlier this when Kurt Zouma of West Ham United abused his cat.

I think a fine only shouldn't be enough. They should serve jail time.

Animal abuse is up there with child abuse! There both depraved acts, and let me tell you something that many other people might not know: People in prison who brag about child abuse are beaten up (and sometimes even killed!) by other inmates, because even criminals care about children!

A fine is not enough, but jail time is an overreach. I think they should be sacked from their workplace to feel some pain. I don't understand the reason some would want to abuse an animal.

I think animal abusers should be forced to get mental health treatment to treat their animal abusing behavior, and be force to do community service like picking up trash on the sidewalk for many months to years.

Definitely one of those areas which should have harsher punishments and monitoring in pace - hopefully the laws will catch up soon! Can’t fathom how someone would want to hurt an animal.

A harmless animal at that. If it's a dangerous animal, you're welcome to do anything in self defense.

Like seriously! It's not like they are forced to keep any animal. Why then do you go get a helpless pet to turn them into their object of abuse? Those guys are sick in the head.

Animal abuse is not a good act. The case of Kurt Zouma was a very disturbing issue and it's also very unacceptable that someone would treat their pet with such cruelty.

Let's assume someone kept abusing a dog or cat until it died from the abuse, what do you think would be the right and strict punishment for such a person?
