Thoughts on the 3DS being hacked?

It's happening at the moment, and they've very close to running full 3DS consoles on a PC based emulator. Do you want the console to be hacked like this? Emulation to be possible?

I don't really care about emulation but Smash 3DS would be amazing with mods like Project M

Honestly, I feel the same about hacking and modding as most do about the jailbreaking of a phone; you own the device so legally you should be able to do what you want with it. I modded my PSP so I could take screenshots and download games with the intent to use them as demos while the games were still in Japan. Haven't had to do that with the PSV or 3DS since both have decent demo amounts. However, I do see both sides to that. I see people misusing it to cheat, and therefor do agree with how Sony and Microsoft handled it by terminating the ability to let the console go online if you were caught. In this way you could safely play with friends whom are fully aware of the mods but choose not to use them in public matches.
