Oookay, either this game had some bad balancing happen to it or my characters really suck! I've never had to heal so much in the 3rd game and breaking monster is near useless. Wth?

Didn't rely on breaking monster during the beginning parts, and yeah needed to heal a lot more too myself. Hang in there until more characters and master quartz and quartz are available. And yes it's unbalance, battle difficulty wise, during act 1 especially. But things will get easier, and maximizing Rean's iron will formation level also helps. Has Elliot joined yet, his damage reduction order ability is really usefull especially when rean is not around. Also Emma's spell absorption order is really usefull when fighting bosses with really damaging magic attacks.

fight every enemy you see and you should be good enough level wise. You can make a tank evade with rare quartz from trades, the usual stuff. and from accessories like evergreen though they nerfed some evade % bonus from accessories. my Rean currently has really excellent evade% more than 70%. combine that with gungnir and Sirius master quartz for some serious counter damage like i did in 3.

Indeed it's almost unbeatable. only a very small chance of winning. Poker is better in this game.
