Uncharted, a movie seemingly cursed and absolutely plagued with delays over many years, is almost ready to resume filming. The news was confirmed by Tom Holland, who is on board to play the lead role of Nathan Drake from the popular video game series. Holland, taking to Instagram, shared a set photo, which features his chair, proudly boasting "Nate" on the back. Holland's caption was simple, yet effective.

While many assumed filmming had started, the team isn't there quite yet. Shooting hasn't officially resumed on the long awaited video game adaptation. The director and his crew are still prepping for production. The hope is to get Tom Holland back in front of camera very soon.

Uncharted is currently set to hit theaters on July 16, 2021.

that really looks like it came from a game.
Yeah the pics look good.

And read from deadline, the movie got pushed back again, to 22nd February 2022.

Saw the first trailer:

Movie bombed by critics, currently at 44% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Times said, "Even Tom Holland, riding a wave of global Spider-Man love, can do little to save this mediocre Tomb Raider knockoff." Nick De Semlyen from Empire added, "A film based on a game inspired by films that are much better than this one, Uncharted is watchable enough but could have been so much better."

Not surprised, why watch a movie when you can just play it all and have more fun?

Indeed even the action sequences in the movie are "taken from the game". Sony should do a new uncharted game instead.

It's expected most movies that are based on games bomb because it's less going on to interact with or experience leaving the character development just visual and hard to relate to. For what it is it doesn't make for a good series unless it's done with some originality and that can be confusing or lacking.

At least the Sonic movie did not bomb.
