I know many of you like to play through the main quest of the Pokemon game before messing around with the side features, but if you have not set up a Dream World game sync account yet, then you are missing out on the key scenes that make this game a direct sequel to Black/White!

For those unfamiliar with game sync and the Dream World, you have to get your game sync code from the main menu of the game once you are past the first gym. Then, on the same Dream World account as your BW game, register your game. Now, enter in your game sync code from the previous game and you will get a list of memories added to your menu. Throughout BW2 there will now be characters who remember you from the previous game and will recount to you how your character influenced their lives.

Now, these are NOT just scenes from the previous game, but actually events that were influenced by you. As for why you had to link up for this, while I have only seen the first of these, they will use your player name from the other game, so at least that data needed to be extracted.

Have you synced up your BW and BW2 yet?

I linked my games. Will be interesting to see the events unfold. I seen the first one with N as you get to see that one right away in the initial town.

I like what they did with this feature. While it isn't all that much, it does add a little bit of extra flare to the game. Unlike other iterations where each game was it's own, Black 2/White 2 really make you feel connected to the previous iteration.

Also, you don't need Dream World to set this up. You can set it up via Nintendo WFC which does require you to put a Pokemon to sleep, but you can also link between two handhelds.

I initially thought this would add extra features to Dream World as well as the memories in game, but it's just the memories in game.

I just found another thing Unova Link/Memory Link unlocks: N's Pokemon!

That's right, every Pokemon that N had caught in BW and then released later in the game can be found in the wild in BW2 after you've linked the games. When you encounter one, you will see a short animation indicating something is different about this Pokemon (similar to how a shiny sparkles) and when prompted for a nickname, you will discover it had a previous trainer and thus cannot be named. On the summary page, the OT number is 00002 (because N is apparently the second trainer ever) and you will even see N's name.

I think this is really awesome and gives you more reason to try to fill the Pokedex habitat pages. Nonetheless, the Pokemon I caught (N's Joltik) did not seem to be anything special at first glance. I am pretty sure all those moves can normally be learned by Joltik, but even if they can't I do not think they would add to a competitive moveset. Still pretty cool though!

Will this only work if you had white and got white 2 our if you had black and got black 2, or can you mix these?
Yeah, I was wondering this. I have white, do I really need to get white 2, or can I get black 2 and still be able to enjoy this sequel to it's fullest?

No. I have White 1 and Black 2. You only need one of the first games this gen and one of the new ones.

N's pokemon are apparently slighty stronger then regular pokemon according to serebii. i myself have caught his darumaka.

That's awesome, I had no idea about that. I'm still early in the game so hopefully I didn't miss any. Is it like shiny's where you can see them as many times, albeit rare or is it a one time thing where once you see you won't see again?

As far as I know, it is a one time thing (if you KO the Pokemon it probably would not show up again). As far as rarity goes, after fully exploring the area, I was able to encounter a few of them, but that puts them at maybe 10% at best for each Pokemon.

That's good info, means gotta make sure to catch them first try. Looks like I'll have to look for False Swipe earlier than expected.

Importing a high level won't work as they won't listen to you.

I finally completed Dream Radar today. Got all the legendaries and I'm really happy to finally be able to obtain guys like Ho-Oh and Lugia. I'm currently stocking up on Genesect by resetting my Black 2 (I play on White 2), but once the Genesect event is finished I plan to delete Dream Radar and do the legendaries for my Black 2 so I can obtain multiples of those.

Who said anything about a high level? catch a Leavany with level around 22 (shaking grass) and teach her FS.

that's what I did in Poke W.

I take it slow and search out all areas so I'm only 1 badge in so even 20 is too high and once usable they quickly become unusable with the EXP bonus. Finding one in White 2 shouldn't be too hard.
