Was keeping Smash Bros 4 and Mario Kart 8 til 2014 a bad idea on Nintendo's part?

Well, what do you think about this?

I suspect it was, since Mario Kart is one of THE big sellers on any system and the kind of game that would have worked really well alongside Mario 3D World this year. And hey, if Smash Bros 4 was added to the line up too, then we'd have a four game killer app list for the critical 2013 holiday season.

Do you think Nintendo should have tried to get these games ready for late 2013 rather than 2014?

From a business point of view I think you're right, but from MY point of view it's a terrible idea. If Nintendo did that I wouldn't be able to pre-order all the games I view as essential. I've even had to cut back a few this year, namely Luigi's Mansion 2/Dark Moon and Mario and Luigi Dream Team /Bros.

Well you know that well known quote by Shigeru Miyamoto?

As in "A late game is only late until it ships. A bad game is bad until the end of time."

Or to put it another way...

Mario Kart 7 was rushed. We don't want a rushed game. To quote what Iwata often says, which is actually some kind of a meme of some sort...

"Please understand, but we need a little more time" to work on the game(s) to "Nintendo's standard of quality".

Do you want Mario Kart 8 to be the next Big Rigs?

I'd rather have a finished game that takes forever than a rushed one that isn't very good. Case in point, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It got kind of rushed at the end and I've found plenty of glitches.

Besides, it builds up antici......................................pation. Which I'm ok with.

I didn't like the wi fi battles in SSBB, they were too slow. I hope they have time to fix that and make them actual speed. I can wait, I need more time to beat everything in KI:U anyway.

No.

They can't help it if they just started working on a game last year and just barely made a trailer for E3 this year.

You try to start working on a fully fledged first party 3D game from scratch and tell me if you finish it in 2 years.

Whatever helps make SSB4 and MK8 the best in their series.

I don't think it was even possible to get SSB4 released this year, it will be difficult enough for Nintendo to get it ready before the end of even next year. Hilariously, EB Games thought it was going to be released last year.

MK8 needs to be amazing. So yeah, I don't think this is a bad idea. It's undesirable, but it really can't be helped too much.

No, what? Who even thought of this topic?

It's better that they take the time and make the games the best quality that they can be.Yes it would be better for business if they were a late 2013 release since the other two new home consoles are coming out late this year, but in the long run once the games are great they will do their job of raking in the cash for ninty
