In retrospect, was it really a good idea to reveal the actual timeline for the Legend of Zelda series?

I'm personally not so sure, if only because it's certainly shot down about as much theorising and discussion as its helped. It might also put Nintendo into a bit of a bind as far as the story for the next game goes, don't you think?

Quite a bad idea in my opinion. The only time-y discussion we'll have is about where each new game fits.
But, it was one of those things we'd never thought we'd get. For me, it felt a bit like if Coca-cola gave away their secret recipe.

Im netrual on the idea...
Think about how fun it was for all the fans to theorize the timeline, and all the discussions, chaining the story together was always quite fun to read and talk about

But it's good to know the exact history of Zelda

least u know the exact order of events

YES, very good, it blew my mind like massively since I tried making a timeline myself but completely failed

The whole 3 timline things was totally unexpected, I thought it just split in 2 after OoT but I was totally wrong hahaha

No because I find that the time line they released is just, I don't even know. I mean it has like 3 time lines. A child time line, an adult time line, and a time where Link dies. That would mean that Link dies while on his adventures and I think it said that WW was next in the time line where he dies, even though it says in the text of the game that the legendary hero won.

Actually Wind Waker is the Adult Timeline,u see when link withdrew the master sword, the timeline split and Link was ethier in The furture or the past but not both! when Link returns from his Adulthood, his Older form is no longer in the "furture world" anymore....and when Ganondorf found a way to escape the sacred realm...the furture timeline had no protection...forcing the gods to flood hyrule, (short and simple overview of what happened)
In other words, the third timeline, is when link actually is killed by Ganon, i thinks its a little confusing

↑Future is spelled F-U-T-U-R-E.
If I'm correct, timeline A is one where Link lives on in adulthood after defeating Ganon.
Timeline B is when he is returned to his childhood, and Ocarina of Time never happens and he goes looking for Navi.
Timeline C is when Ganon defeats Link and rules tyrannically.

A typo is a typo, so please excuse my spelling, i do type fast

and well no he doesn't live on in the Adult Timline... he goes back to his original unaltered timeline..where Majora's mask and Twilight princess take place...u r certainly correct about Timeline B and C but, the reason timeline A or the "adult timeline" takes place is because he left the altered timeline....this is where Ganondorf escapes the Sacred Realm from being sealed and Hyrule is forced to be flooded by the gods because no hero was there at the moment, many years later wind waker takes place....

Ok fine it's in the adult. I can't remember what game came next in the fail time line. Doesn't matter I don't agree to it.

See the thing is Ganon never wins. Unless you suck at Zelda II. That's beside the point. The point is at the end of the game Link always wins so they have can't have a time line where he loses. Now if they had an extensive cut scene for every time you game over, like in Banjo-Kazooie, and Ganon does win, then I'll believe there can be a time line where Link loses.

↑Everyone's favourite solution to timeline problems: Parallel Universes!!!!

Still can't have a parallel universe without any pretense still. It throws everything off.

It was a bad idea. I dont know what possesed this guy to release it, but he didnt even put his full ass into the book. Now theres so many inconsistensies that the story will never be straight. This book made me not want to play the skyward game. This book shouldnt of happened until they covered all the gaps.
