Because when I look at the level and its lack of missions, it does really look to me like the developers either ran out of time a bit or decided not to really bother working on it as much as the other mansions.
For one thing, it's obviously got only three non boss missions whereas the other mansions have got five. Why is this?
Secondly, Polterpup somehow doesn't show up at all in the entire mansion yet it appears in some form on every single one of the others (albeit in a cameo role in Gloomy Manor). Was a Polterpup mission possibly cut here?
There's also what seems like a lack of effort put into the mini bosses. I mean sure, the Strong enemies you fight from the crystals are cool and all that, but they're literally just palette swaps of normal bad guys with more health. Okay, I guess that's also shared with the boss from Gloomy Manor (the three Poltergeists/Boffins), but come on, they don't exactly compare to the Three Sisters, Ancient Poltergeist, Strong Poltergeist or Big Boo in design or interesting gameplay mechanics.
Additionally, certain things like the boss seem like they weren't quite tested particularly well. You can literally have a bomb go straight through the Shrewd/Scornful Possessor when it charges at you. How did that get past QA again? Then again, how did this boss get past the testers either? Surely someone must have asked what the hell a rail shooter fight had to do with Luigi's Mansion, right?
So yes, do you think the area might have been rushed? Might the people working on it have decided it was better to release the game a bit earlier and decided that it was better to devote the time to Treacherous Mansion instead?
