No, you are thinking of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. That show is on the Travel channel, while Good Eats is on the Food Network. Good Eats is a show where Alton Brown, who is both a chef, and commentator for Iron Chef America, shows you how to make different dishes using either a common food item, or the main theme on the show.. the recipes are very simple, and easy to follow.
For instance, let's say that one day, the theme is Chocolate. On that show he will show you how to use chocolate in different ways, and they won't necessarily be sweet dishes. It is a good show for anyone who is either a food geek, or who wants to learn how to cook.
It is also good if you already know how to cook, but wanted to learn how to make a certain dish. He also explains explains things from a scientific POV regarding why and how certain things happen, (such as what makes yeast rise, etc..) as you are making the dish. When applicable, he also explains things such as how to pick the best utensils, and the different cuts of meat etc..
Personally, I am both a food geek, and I watch to learn how to make certain dishes even though I already know how to cook. He is also pretty funny.. in a nerdy sort of way. My fiancé and I have learned a lot, and we have bought the first of 3 cookbooks.

Anyway, it is a very good show, and is recommended for those who want to learn, are science geeks at heart, and are interested in food science as well.
