I think that it should be completely legal everywhere. It stimulates the thought process, and does way more good than harm for your body. (Seeing as it does virtually no harm at all.)

So what do you think?

I've never even seen it IRL xD
Alot of people in my school do it though.
If cigarettes are legal, weed should be too.

I think Bob Marley was the only man who legitly saw it as an herb. Everybody else just follows his example as an excuse to smoke.

Don't use it, so don't really care myself.

That said, if legalising it stops all these drug smuggling problems, then so be it. I'm sure there's got to some negative points to it's legalisation though, unless if it's just been illegal for the past several years for the heck of it.

I'm indifferent. I would never use it, but if you do, more power to ya. It just goes against my personal beliefs. Though it's not like I'm going to stop people from doing it.

Marijuana inhibits your short-term memory, alters your perception and reduces critical thinking abilities. Long term, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has also been shown to weaken your immune system. If you smoke it, you're prone to the same health risks as tobacco smokers, such as lung cancer.

So there are indeed negative effects of using marijuana, but seeing as alcohol and tobacco are both legal, I don't see any reason (other than business interests) as to why weed isn't. Personally I've never and would never use it, but there are worse drugs out there and if you want to go smoke a joint during your free time, be my guest.

Contrary to popular belief, marijuana actually doesn't cause cancer. It actually fights against many types of cancer. This includes lung cancer. THC is also a nonadictive chemical, and has no physical or mental withdrawals.

Don't care for it. I always found it interesting how so many people on the internet were obsessed about it though.

I don't use any drugs. I don't drink. I don't smoke. Don't think most of those things should be banned, but I'd never get involved in any of them.

Nin3DS? You don't drink? Everyone needs to drink.... if you don't drink, you'll die of thirst.... and then who's run the place? Me? Yeah, that'd work... I mean what a prepost---
Hey..... maybe.... hmmmm....... *removes all drinks from Nin3DS's house*........

...... no one will ever suspect a thing...... unless they read this post........ CRAP!

I personally don't do it, but I believe having it banned and tabacco legal is a complete double standard. Due to the fact I doubt the US could every fully enforce laws against it, they might as well just make it legal so at least they can pitch on some taxes hopefully reducing taxes in other areas.

I think criminalizing it is a massive waste of money, and literally ruins lives.

Some would argue that if it were legal, drug dealers would start pushing harder drugs. Others say that it'd wipe out most of the black market for all drugs. I think it's conceivable that you'd see a bit of both.

Ideally I'd like to see it packaged, taxed, regulated and sold with appropriate warnings clearly communicated.

People are very quick to say 'prohibition doesn't work', but it's clearly a mistake to abandon all efforts to reduce smoking and alcohol abuse.

do you want a medal?

If you smoke it you are susceptible to lung cancer. It's the smoke that does it, not the THC. People don't tend to chain-smoke joints like they do cigarettes, so it isn't as common.

I don't think it should be legalized. Its best left as it is. Many of my friends from school do it, and some of them have done some pretty stupid things because of it. Like any other street drug, it is mentally deteriorating. And if your a druggie, pot is the stepping stone to deadlier drugs. You'll eventually stop getting high from it, and will want to get that high, so you will look for something stronger, like ecstasy, cocaine, meth, etc. My opinion is: if you want smoke pot, thats your business, just don't have it or smoke it around me.

If it's a person's 'own business if they want to smoke pot', why do you want to criminalize it. What's it to you?

The 'gateway drug' argument only works when it's illegal (which means you end up getting it from a dealer, who may try to sell you harder drugs). If you're buying it over the counter like alcohol or cigarettes, that's a very different situation.

There are actually studies done on countries where it is legal and they have none of the harsher chemical drugs we have here in the states, so I think there is enough evidence to support the idea that legalizing it would do the same for us. People make chemical drugs because they cannot legally obtain natural drugs. Meth and other things like it are popular where I am and those cause much, MUCH worse problems.

I would love to see it legalized and taxed. Then too, my town won't even allow the sale of alcohol, so THAT'S not gonna happen. (Side note: eliminating the sale of alcohol hurt restaurants, made other taxes higher, and causes a large amount of accidents between here and the nearest place to get alcohol. Just another example of how it is much easier and better all around to legalize, regulate, and tax a drug rather than try to eliminate it.)
