If there are many thousands of Game Makers world wide, the price of games may come down for some games since not every game is worth $60, and some game makers may sell games for $40-50 to attract many more buyers instead of being greedy, and hoping many people buy their game for $60.

If a AAA game is made the publisher can sell it for any price and they will get it. All that matters when it comes to buying a game is how well it is and if the gameplay matches the price.
