What classic franchises should return to the PS4?

The original PlayStation received a tremendous amount of 3rd party support. It was a big reason why the console was so incredibly successful and edged out both the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn. Plenty of compelling games were released for the PS One that were exclusive to the system.

Namco was one of Sony's big 3rd party developers behind Ridge Racer, Tekken and Soul Edge (the precursor to the Soul Calibur series) which started life out in the arcades (comprised of PS1 hardware) and the PlayStation for the home market.

It's been a while since we've last seen a Ridge Racer, wouldn't it be great if we see a return on the PS4?

What classic PS1 series would you like to see on the PS4?
 
The old type of spyro games, the old crashbandicoot games and grandia as well.
 
Spyro and Crash Bandicoot are definitely classics that I would love to have return. However, I would really love to have Chocobo Racing be remade! This game was so much fun! I love all the different players you could be as well as the unique race tracks. Has anyone else played this game before?

I reckon it should be Crash Bandicoot as the graphics were really good for the time it came out in the 90's and was impressive to play as well. Another series was Tomb Raider starting in 1996 and was in 3d which was about Lara Croft is a female who is brave  and the puzzles were nicely done, although the controls and the graphics should be done better this time if released. I think that the original games will appeal to new people if the games are done on the Ps4 and made nicely and exciting to play with a good story which will motivate them.
 
Well, ever since that Shenmue thing happened, people are kind of clamoring for a new Legend of Dragoon.

Now I had the game and beat it many years ago. Nothing really stood out to me personally aside from the semi-power ranger like aspect of transforming into the dragon armor. But hey, that's just me.
 
 
They need to find a way to get the old Monkey Paw team together and revisit Tomba.

I don't know how they can let THAT platformer lay dormant this long.
 
 
Since Square is in such a "Sony" mood as of late, they need to do something with Ehrgeiz.

I know Namco owned the arcade version. Not sure if they would need any legal input on bringing back the game to the PS4 in a new age style.

But it would be nice for some NEW "God Bless the Ring" if you know what I mean :)
 
 
Not sure if they can get Capcom to chime in on this. But how about a new Rival Schools?

This to me by far was their most enjoyable fighting franchise. And before anyone gets at me, yes I like it more than Street Fighter.

The fast pace, the music, the school theme characters. Man, memories.....
 
 
You know, I was always hoping that ONE DAY, Sony would bring back Intelligent Cube. I remember back when the PS3 came out and they put out Echochrome I was saying it was great. But then I said "why don't they make a new Intelligent Cube if their making puzzle games"?
 
 
I second the spyro series.  They were so amazing back on the playstation 1.  If I could choose, I think I'd bring back the old rayman games.  Origins is super fun, but I miss the aspects of Rayman 3.  Either that, or Jak and daxter!
 
I have always hoped that PS4 would put a bit more effort about the Tekken series since it was a blast at the time when it went out. I really like how the characters where put in the story and how the whole game was realized, also the multiplayer matches were just an amazing experience to have. Anyway I doubt that this will happen anysoon..
 
I think they definitely need to bring back the Ace Combat series and set it in the strangereal world rather than the real world. So many possibilities could be achived with the new power of the PS4 and it seems such a shame that a great series has seemed to have died.
 
I would love to see another Crash game! It's been so long, I'm sure it would look amazing with newer graphics. The character is probably silly enough that it would still appeal to audiences today, and the game play isn't really something that gets old.
 
I'd like to see the return of the Parasite Eve series.

With the current gen tech a new Parasite Eve could be amazingly disturbing.
 
Personally I remember playing the fight night series of games on the PlayStation 2 and 3 and would like to see that series return to the next gen consoles. MMA and UFC games seem to have taken over but I do still think theres a market out there for a traditional boxing game.

There has been talking of EA sports reviving the series but there doesn't seem to be antmything in the pipeline at the moment unfortunately.

I forgot about crash!  That series was so cool!  
 
I agree that they should bring back Crash Bandicoot.  I doubt it will ever happen though.  If you look back to the way the first PS1 Crash Bandicoot was received, nobody was too hot on it back then either.  It was a great game nonetheless.  Way ahead of it's time.

I also think they need to bring back Samurai Showdown.  One of the best fighters ever, in my opinion.
