What other Nintendo games should be ported to/remade for the 3DS?

We've already had The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D, and we're getting Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D this year, so what other games do you think should get a similar treatment? Personally, I think these titles might benefit a bit from it:

1. Super Paper Mario

Come on, the whole gimmick of the game is that you're going between a 2D world and a 3D one and that you have to figure out where to 'flip dimensions' and go into the background/foreground to bypass impossible obstacles. This game with a real 3D effect would not only look awesome regardless of the view (the game's style would make it look almost like a diorama), but the 3D could also actually affect the gameplay and clue you in on where to change from 2D to 3D view.

Additionally, they could add new stuff like a way to speed up cut scenes, remove some of the more 'annoying' aspects like running on a giant hamster wheel to get in game money and have you use the stylus/touch screen for Tippi's scanning.

2. Wario Land The Shake Dimension

Not only would it help kill time prior to a real Wario Land or WarioWare title being released on the 3DS at some point in the future, but I think the amazing hand drawn graphics would look great in real 3D. Can you imagine how neat it'd be to have this on a handheld?

They could also change the shake controls to more traditional ones like they're doing for Donkey Kong Country Returns, since I'm sure some people didn't like things like having to shake the Wii remote to jump/swing off poles or throw balls and other objects at switches

3. Super Mario Sunshine

It's been said a million times, but we so need a Super Mario Sunshine remake in the style of Super Mario 64 DS. Add Luigi, Yoshi and Wario as playable, add two new Shine Sprites per level, add some new areas/levels/bosses and mini games then top it all off with minor gameplay enhancements like touch screen based FLUDD usage and a map to see things like Blue Coins on.

Voila, one classic even more people will get to play!

4. Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Return to Dream Land

Not sure which, but I think either could make a nice 'quick' port while Nintendo gets to work on a brand new Kirby game for the console.

And they'd both look very nice in true 3D, right?

5. The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask

Nothing more to be said here, there's a whole petition/campaign for this one. But I guess it'd make a neat follow up to Ocarina of Time 3D, right?

So those are my choices for older Nintendo games that I think should be given 3DS ports or remakes, what games do you wish were ported over?

well, plenty in my book. first Kirby 64 and Donkey Kong 64. The Super Mario Lands. Sunshine i agree on. But it would also be nice to remake Zelda 1, 2, Minish Cap. And the 2 DS Zeldas only to fix the mistakes to make them look better. Hmmmm a Tetris and Dr. Mario game is long overdue. And what about Golden Sun? The GBAs were good but the DS was a mistake. They should also remake Super Metroid just because of its' popularity, humm and a new F-Zero would be nice....

Super Metroid would be awesome. There could be some nice background effects, and explosions would look nice too. I just want to play Super Metroid.

Act Raiser - but not 2. If they made another in the series like the first one where you take care of the town and then added more RPG elements like a level up system and such to the sidescroll dungeon platformer part I think the 3D effect and touch screen could work beautifully on the series.

Here's my list (in no particular order). Either remade, ported to the 3DS, or at least rereleased on virtual console

1. Pokemon R/S/E

2. Pokemon Yellow

3. Fire Emblem (All series games that are not on a home console and not released in English yet, or released on the DS or 3DS)

4. Digimon World Re Digitize (Being ported in Japan, but unsure about the US)

5. Chibi-Robo

6. Pikmin (1, 2, or 3)

7. Super Mario RPG

8. Digimon games in the World/Story series (The ones that were made for PS1, PS2, GC, Xbox, and the ones that are not released in English yet)

9. Earthbound/Mother (1-3)

10. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

11. Persona 4 (Original or Golden)

12. The Binding of Issac (Plus the second one, if they can make it past Nintendo)

13. Minecraft (Pocket Edition)

14. Dungeon Defenders (The portable/Android version? idk)

15. Rock of Ages

16. Pokemon Trading Card Game (1-2)

17. Pokemon Tower Defense (If Nintendo ever wants to buy the rights, or make a game similar to it. lol)

That's all that I can think of at the moment.

The topic was Nintendo games. As in Developed for those systems exclusively. Persona, Minecraft, Dungeon Defenders, Rock of Ages, all are not exclusive. Persona 4 already has a 3DS port by the way. And Chibi-Robo has a DS sequel despite both games getting poor ratings and reviews to the point the developers lost money on the second one. It was a Wal-Mart exclusive, so that should tell you a lot lol I'm not sure what the Binding of Isaac is, but I doubt that was a Nintendo exclusive either lol Pokémon Tower of Defense will probably come out in the future. Tower of defense games are a trend as of the moment, it seems, and if they joined with Koei to make a Nobunaga's Ambition stylized game with Pokémon in it (Conquest for DS) then I can see them making a tower of defense game. Earthbound got a DS game called Contact that is part of the series and storyline, though it really has very little to do with and plays nothing like Mother 1 and 2. I highly enjoyed it, however, and would love to see a sequel.

Pokémon R/S/E

Super Mario World Advance 2

D/P/P

Super Smash Melee

Pikmin 1/2

Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins

Other stuff...?

I want a 3DS remake of SmashBros64.

Retitle it SmashBros.643D,add wireless and online play, few new stages/stage builder, and we're all ready to wait for SSB4! It'd be a nice way for Nintendo to ingrain SmashBros. into peoples minds, hold us off,and more importantly, build hype for SSB4,prior to its release(becuase we know its far off).

Lastly,I'd like to see PowerQuest return as a 3Dclassic.

I would love to see Kirby's Epic Yarn released on the 3DS. I wish Nintendo still owned Banjo-Kazooie, because ports of those two games would be great! And I'm still waiting on an Eshop release of Yoshi's Island...

I'd like to see SSB64 handheld as well, it was the only one of the series I really loved. And did you mean Power STONE? The Capcom fighting game RPG? It has been made for the PSP with additions as Power Stone Collection if so. I own it and it rocks.

No I mean Power Quest! Its a fighting/rpg for gameboy color! Although it was created by Capcom,it was originally a Japan only game, later it was translated and published by Japan Supply Systems for other parts of the world to enjoy.

Ah okay thank you because I just kept getting google hits from Power Quest the band until you said GBC and I put in GBC after it. It looks pretty cool and reminds me of the old PC game from the early 90's One Must Fall, especially the blue robot named Max.
