What should Mario Kart U be like?

What do you think should Mario Kart U be like? And no, it shouldn't be called Mario Kart 8. MK7 was only MK7 because of the lucky 7 item. It was a pun.

Anywhores, I think MKU should have the awesome track selection that MK7 had. It was the highest point in the game's favor. For the new tracks, I'm not a designer, but there should be tracks based on Greenhorn forest/ruins from Wario World, one based on Luigi's Mansion 2, and other recent marioverse games. For returning tracks, we should see some old favorites such as Grumble Volcano, Mushroom City, Ribbon Road, and Wario Stadium.

The coins would return, but not the hang-gliders or underwater segments. The tricks would return as well, and the map, for the player using the gamepad. The customisation would be gone, leaving the character specific carts from previous games, as well as the return of character specific items, like Double Dash.

The character roster would be the biggest yet, featuring most characters except Lakitu, because he's needed for people who fall in the water. Here's the roster.

Pretty much like MK7 for the 3DS, you move your tablet to move the kart, you can use items by clicking on them on the tablet.
Also, gliders, underwater and normal karts are going to be in it.
And all characters that ever appeared in Mario games.

Add a level editor and more game modes, and bring back mission mode. If coins are going to brought back add a shop so players can buy extra karts and tracks, cups.

Plus they should add something in the game like coins or racing points so you can spend them at the shop. Something like this.

1st place: 100 coins/points
2nd place: 50 coins/points
3rd place: 25 coins/points

Maybe raise it a little, but still.

And it didn't. All the karts in MK7 just looked unfinished rather than coherant.

I made the roster to have the best characters from all branches of mario games, not for people that like that one enemy from SMB1. Even without Syrup, Lakitu is hardly important enough to surpass everyone else. Come to think of it, Honey Queen and ROB should be cut, too. But even with the 3 of them gone, the roster is already massive for a MK game and I made it to have the best choices of characters. Side note, I love how nobody was butthurt that I didn't include DK jr. from the original Mario Kart. Boo hoo, I didn't include every character. Not every character should be in, that's why.

I considered that, but Metal Mario is one of the most used characters. There'd be way more complaints than a few people bitching about Lakitu. Besides, he is more than an ambiguous enemy.
