They might say they're only after money... but let's face it, people dressed like this can't seriously just be gangsters in the traditional sense:

So what do you think they're actually after? What is this 'beautiful world' thing about?
 
Their goal was already said in the leaked CoroCoro magazine scans. "Team Flare are looking to create a beautiful world."
 
Yes, but what does that entail? That's a very vague goal compared to 'seperate Pokemon and humans' or 'remake the universe to remove emotion'.

They are also after money to buy a rare rock to make Mewtwo the world's most powerful Pokemon. The Team (and scientists) came from Cinnabar Island and plan to find Mewtwo when he's most vulnerable. They used to work for Blaine and some were Burglars.

so basically the pokemon burglars from the pokemon mansion on cinnibar island we faced in red and blue games are returning as a huge organisation? Sweet...

This is actually a really clever guess but I'm willing to bet it will be much, much dumber. Pokemon villains became dumb after Team Rocket, which was legit organized crime.

Pokemon mutiliation is a pretty hardcore crime. Like poachers taking elephant tusks.
 
To rule the world maybe? I don't know.
 
That's pretty vague. They need some motivation like all great Nintendo villains. (Making Bowser less great.)
