What will we seen in the next generation console?

The old lifecycle for a console was something like 8-10 years but there's a number of tech writers out there who think we'll see the next generation much sooner. One reason was that when Xbox one and PS4 lauched people were surprised at the initial sales, and drop-off in people buying games for the previous generation. People were dying to get their hands on something new, and Microsoft and Sony haven't forgotten that.

So far the only public information I've seen is that the next-gen Xbox will be more game focused (thankfully), with slick tech specs, and less emphasis on the whole TV side of things. I think though they have to come up with something new to get people really excited. Maybe VR or an online only console.

What do you think we'll see?

I'm hoping for something hologram-based, or augmented reality glasses that project the game in 3D and turn your room into the world of the games you're playing.
That would be really cool.  I think there will be a big emphasis on VR and such, especially considering how much hype and such there is about the oculus and Steam VR.

something new and worthy of my money.

If they make VR affordable then that be integrated into the next gen. I hope that's what happened anyway, I just want Oculus or something like it to help me feel immersed in the game. While it couldn't work for everything I'd like to see them try!

I think there will be a major emphasis on 3D capability. We're already seeing it with movies and to me, it seems logical that it will likely be a focus for new gaming consoles. Which, would be really freaking cool. Who wouldn't want to see the games come to life?

Something someone already mentioned that I like amd hope we see is a larger importance on game design and gameplay, rather than movies/TV capability. That's all fine and dandy, but I want my gaming console to be a gaming console first. Not that the PS4 or Xbox one are lacking in any way (really like both), but I wouldn't mind seeing more attention being paid to the actual purpose; gaming.

More powerful graphics power is a given, as well as a bigger hard drive. Probably a 1tb as standard.

Depending on how far along VR tech is when the next gen consoles start releasing, we could see an option for VR goggles or they might even ship with them. Who knows? I do think that physical copies of games are going to be slowlly phased out though, and I rekon that by the time the next gens come, a lot more games will be releasing as digital downloads and probably at a lower price compaired to their physical versions.
