What's with all the Newer Super Mario Bros Wii hype?

I've seen a ton of hacks and fan games before, and yet few of those got this amount of hype from gaming journalists.

What's more interesting is that while the level design does seem fairly good, it's not particularly ground breaking in the sense of the projects of Yoshielectron or the like.

Heck, even the shut down of Super Mario Bros X probably got less hype...
